Swindon Youth Partnership Aims:

To represent the diverse Voluntary & Community Youth Services in Swindon
To assist in raising the quality of services for young people in Swindon
To provide opportunities for members to share information, support each other and address issues relevant to their work
To act as a voice for the Voluntary & Community Youth Sector in Swindon at a local, regional and national level


Membership is free of charge. It is open to national and local organisations and community-based groups which:

– Work directly with young people between the age of 5 and 25 years old
– Provide practical and social skills, personal education and / or spiritual development opportunities
– Support the aims of Swindon Youth Partnership
– Operate within Swindon and/or the immediate surrounding area

There are two types of Membership:

Full Membership

Voluntary & Community Sector organisations that work directly with young people and operate on a not-for-profit basis (although not necessarily a registered charity).

Associate Membership

Non Voluntary & Community Sector organisations whose work extends to include working with young people (including Private and Statutory Sector organisations).

There are no size restrictions for either type of Membership. Groups may be independent or part of a larger regional or national body.

Organisations undertaking and / or affiliated to party political activity are not eligible for membership.

Organisations that practise discriminatory activties are not eligible for membership.


Full Member organisations are entitled to one vote at general meetings. Each Full Member organisation should appoint an individual to represent it and vote on its behalf at meetings.

Voting Members elect an Executive Committee from SYP’s membership to manage the organisation as specified by the constitution.
